In July 2024, we embarked on a video project to spotlight our different kind of dementia support. We wanted to show the benefits of people living with dementia being supported in small groups in the intimate setting of a family home. We joined forces with a couple of students from the Media Department of The College of Richard Collyer, a co-educational sixth form college in Horsham, in a collaborative project to produce short bitesize videos of no more than 1min for our website and social media platforms.
The purpose of each of the videos was to emphasis the positive and stimulating effects of people living with dementia being supported in small groups and to show the positive experience for our guests, hosts and carers. We wanted to highlight the amazing relationship with our hosts and their guests, to showcase the friendships between our guests, the fun and enjoyment of the day and the participation in memory boosting activities.
We wanted to focus on some of the wider benefits of spending a day with like-minded people challenged with the same memory issues and the benefits for the carer.
The feedback from the students from Collyer’s was two-fold – “It was so wonderful to work with you on this project, and to meet all of the lovely people that you work with and those who visit Tapestry Day Club. We wanted to say thank you for this opportunity, it was very insightful not only for progression in our media skills but also giving us an opportunity to meet some wonderful people, to hear their stories and have a greater understanding of dementia.”

We offer a different type of support, specifically to help improve interaction within small groups of up to six guests, in the family home of our hosts.
Could you provide a safe and stimulating place in your home for between two and six guests? Would you like to be well remunerated while knowing you are making a difference?
