At Tapestry Day Club, we believe every day holds the potential for joy, connection and a sense of belonging. Through our personalised support and small-group, home-based settings, we don’t just deliver activities – we create warm, familiar spaces where older people with early-stage dementia can build confidence and independence, while their families gain essential respite.
In a landscape where high-quality, personalised dementia support is limited, these figures represent a vital lifeline. Each Club Day, each hour of respite and every guest welcomed reflects our mission to help people live well with early-stage dementia – and to support their devoted family carers.
In 2024 we supported 140 guests and their families, delivered 2,435 club days and provided over 15,000 hours of respite to carers and family members.

Healthwatch was established under the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to understand the needs, experiences and concerns of people who use health and social care services and to speak out on their behalf.
They exist on a national and local level, working towards the same goal of enabling people to have a voice about their health and social care systems.

Community Engagement & Awareness
As a recognised local provider of dementia services, we bring people together and raise awareness. Families benefit from ongoing communication, resources and wrap around advice and support.
I have been following the progress of Tapestry Day Club for several years and know them to deliver a model of care that is much needed and appreciated. It is a quality service but regarded more as a “meet up with friends” by the guests and is something that they have told me they “really look forward to”. This feeling /situation is something that a large day centre would struggle to replicate. Larger day care solutions can be regarded as stigmatising and will not always be able to provide the personalised /consistent approach that a Tapestry host can deliver in a home environment.
For family carers, needing regular short breaks, it can make such a difference if their loved one looks forward to going to their club and is a willing participant. It helps reduce or remove any guilt that they may have about taking time out. The opportunity for carers to build a relationship with the host is also a very valuable part of the Tapestry model. I would love for the charity to one day have a presence across every town and village in West Sussex.
