Carers Week is a time to shine a light on the incredible dedication of unpaid carers across the UK. It is a vital opportunity to recognise the immense contributions they make every single day. Here at Tapestry Day Club, we know just how much goes into caring for a loved one, especially when they are living with early-stage dementia.
Caring for someone with early-stage dementia brings unique challenges. It requires patience, understanding, and a willingness to adapt as needs change. Unpaid carers often juggle their caring responsibilities with other commitments, making their role incredibly demanding. They are the backbone of our communities, providing comfort, stability and love. Their efforts often allow their loved ones to remain at home for longer, something truly invaluable.
We also understand that carers need a break. At Tapestry Day Club we offer tailored day support between 5-6 hours of valuable respite. This time allows carers to recharge, attend to their own needs, or simply have some much-needed quiet time. Knowing that their loved one is in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment provides immense peace of mind. We believe that when carers are well-supported, they can provide even better care.
We also offer support directly to carers, providing information and signposting to other services that can help. This holistic approach ensures both the person living with dementia and their carer receive the support they deserve. You can find out more about the support we offer for carers by visiting our dedicated page for carers.
